Job Overview

The Medical Surveillance Associate role at IQVIA involves providing end-to-end medical surveillance support, including:


Monitoring clinical laboratory data of subjects in clinical trials

Preparing medical narratives and safety summaries

Interfacing with investigator sites and clinical teams

Supporting clinical study safety monitoring and compliance

This position plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, protocol adherence, and accurate clinical data interpretation.


Key Responsibilities

Act as Global Lead for medical surveillance projects managing a team of specialists

Deliver project-specific training, operational execution, and quality control

Set up new clinical projects and SOPs in collaboration with sponsors and physicians

Represent the Medical Surveillance Team in client, investigator, and project meetings

Monitor clinical laboratory data trends and identify safety signals

Communicate critical insights impacting clinical study outcomes

Ensure laboratory data reporting aligns with protocol and regulatory standards

Troubleshoot data access and reporting issues with IT and lab teams

Verify site performance and compliance with study requirements

Maintain updated knowledge via medical journals, training, and seminars


Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Candidates must have a background in Life Sciences or Healthcare, including:

Pharmacy (B.Pharm, M.Pharm, PharmD)

Life Sciences (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology)

Medical Laboratory Sciences / Nursing / Physiotherapy

Healthcare Degrees (MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, MDS)

BDS/MDS/BHMS/BAMS freshers or Pharm D, M Pharm MSc graduates with 2+ years experience in clinical research.


Skills Required

Strong understanding of clinical research and pharmacovigilance

Ability to interpret clinical laboratory data and safety trends

Knowledge of ICSR, medical review, and drug safety processes

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Problem-solving ability for clinical data and system issues

Estimated Salary: ₹4.0 LPA – ₹8.0 LPA (based on experience & role level)
